The UIC gateway processes reservation requests from travel agencies and forwards them to the correct railway company. In addition, accounts and evaluations are created and processed for the companies involved.
The gateway of the Rhaetian Railways is shared by the Montreux Oberland Bahn and the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn. Tourists make up a large proportion of travelers on these railways. Over 1.6 million tourists are en route every year on the famous Glacier Express route between St. Moritz and Zermatt. The new UIC gateway plays an important role as seat reservations are compulsory on these trains.
Ergonomics implements the complete UIC gateway software solution and operates it from the end of 2016 on a highly available and redundant infrastructure.
